A moment of truth - Identifying victims of a disaster
In any medical emergency situation, time is crucial, with the first four minutes often making the difference between life and death. ZAKA’s paramedics, available 24/7 and deployed across the country, are ready to provide immediate emergency assistance as quickly as possible (often even before the first ambulance arrives).
The Rapid Response Motorcycle Unit was established by ZAKA volunteers to address numerous disasters and tragedies that require faster response times to save lives. The unit comprises hundreds of ZAKA volunteers and specially equipped motorcycles. The volunteers have all undergone various emergency first aid courses, including experienced paramedics, ambulance drivers, and even doctors. Each volunteer is equipped with a pager and communication gear, allowing them to be immediately located by ZAKA’s assistance line and deployed to the incident site.
In many cases, these volunteers are often the first to arrive on the scene due to their distribution across the country. As soon as they receive notification of an incident, they drop everything and rush to the location as quickly as possible to provide vital professional first aid to the injured.
